Dataset Summary
TitleProteomic analysis of the anticancer effect of an antimicrobial myristoylated peptide
DescriptionAntimicrobial peptides (AMPs),bioactive against multidrug-resistant (MDR) human pathogens, are promising candidates to counteract the antimicrobial resistance. Strong efforts are in progress to bring AMPs into clinical use and they are also being investigated as anticancer agents. In this context, we identified an Antarctic fish-derived AMP, named chionodracine. Based on its scaffold, we designed a chionodracine mutant peptide and three shorter N-myristoylated (myr) peptides active against some MDR pathogens To deeply investigate the molecular effects of Myr-B in HeLa cells, we employed label-free shotgun quantitative proteomics coupled with bioinformatics comparing three experimental groups: untreated, Pep-B- and Myr-B-treated cells.
