| Description | Photoperiod- and temperature-sensitive genic male sterility (PTGMS) plays a central role in two-line hybrid wheat breeding, yet its underlying molecular mechanisms remain incompletely understood. In this study, we performed a genome-wide identification of the ATP-binding cassette subfamily G (ABCG) genes in wheat and systematically investigated their potential roles in fertility conversion. Comparative proteomic analyses were conducted using anthers from the PTGMS wheat line under sterile and fertile conditions to characterize protein abundance changes associated with fertility transition. The proteomics data revealed that TaABCG7B-8 is significantly associated with fertility conversion, suggesting its pivotal role in anther development and pollen formation. These mass spectrometry-based proteomics datasets provide valuable resources for elucidating the regulatory network underlying PTGMS in wheat and for further functional characterization of ABCG family members in male reproductive development. |
