Dataset Summary
TitleRegion-resolved proteomic analysis of mouse heart from different age groups
DescriptionAging is a major risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), primarily due to its association with declining cardiac function, which significantly influences the pathogenesis of conditions like myocardial infarction and heart failure. While several cardiac proteomic atlases exist, spatially resolved proteomic dynamics essential for understanding region-specific cardiac aging mechanisms remain poorly characterized. This study establishes a spatially resolved quantitative proteomic atlas across multiple murine cardiac regions at three aging stages (3, 12, and 20 months). Using bioinformatics deconvolution and machine learning, we systematically identified key cardiac aging regulators from 6,650 quantified proteins. Collectively, this work provides an extensive region-resolved proteomic landscape of cardiac aging, identifies key protein regulators, and uncovers potential targets for cardio-protective interventions against age-related CVDs.
