Dataset Summary
| Title | PHYB and PRR9 comprises a tandem thermosensitive switch in Arabidopsis |
| Description | The ability of natural plants to withstand extremely high temperature is hampered by two main issues: temperature perception and adaptation. Circadian components involved in temperature compensation (TC) may help plants adjust to high temperature environments. Here, we report that PRR9 is evolved as a circadian regulator for high temperature adaptation. Moreover, temperature-regulated interaction compartment between phyB and PRR9 can form a thermally sensitive tandem switch to perceive and transduce a wider range of temperature change. We further revealed that PRR9 recruit m6A demethylase ALKBH9B in cytoplasmic speckles to regulate mRNA metabolism to maintain stable circadian rhythmicity at elevated temperature, which stands for a non-canonical function of PRR9. Our findings showed that plants have intricate temperature sensing mechanisms for adaptation to climate change in surroundings by fully utilize the interaction between photoreceptor and circadian clock. |
