PXD044479 is an original dataset announced via ProteomeXchange.

Dataset Summary
TitlePaleo-proteomic analysis of Iron Age dental calculus provides direct evidence of Scythian reliance on ruminant dairy
DescriptionPrevious stable isotopic and archaeological evidence have characterized the Scythians from the Northern Black Sea Region sites, Bel’sk and Mamai-Gora, as agro-pastoralists. To further investigate their diet and food sources, a shotgun proteomic analysis was performed on Scythian dental calculus. The detection of diverse milk proteins from both ruminant and equine species aligns with previous findings and shows a substantial reliance on ruminant dairy.
