This project investigates the molecular mechanisms by which blue light enhances conidiation in the medicinal fungus Shiraia bambusicola. We found that blue light not only advanced conidia production by 6 days but also increased the yield by over 7-fold. Through a comprehensive proteomic analysis, we identified 455 differentially expressed proteins and pinpointed key involvement of carbohydrate metabolism and calcium signaling pathways. Functional studies confirmed that calcium release from intracellular stores, modulated by blue light, is a critical trigger for conidiation. This research provides crucial insights for applying blue light in the industrial production of S. bambusicola conidia and advances the understanding of fungal development.
