Shell matrix proteins (SMPs) were extracted from A. amphitrite shells，and further redissolved in 8 M urea. A timsTOF Pro mass spectrometer (Bruker) was coupled to nanoElute (Bruker Daltonics) to perform LC-MS/MS analysis.
