Investigation into the normal breast microenvironment, which contains a gradient composition of fibrillar collagens altered by certain risk factors associatde with breast cancer through the employment of a cohort of clinically characterized tissues from the Susan G. Komen Tissue Bank derived from healthy female donors. This study was carried out to understand dynamic collagen proteome regulation in the normal breast microenvironment and to provide a basis for understanding the molecular characteristics of normal breast stroma that may increase breast cancer risk.
