This proteomics experiment aimed to identify proteins whose abundance is altered by lithium deficiency in the context of Alzheimer's disease pathology in mice. Female homozygous 3xTg-AD mice were continuously fed either a lithium-deficient or a control diet from 6 to 15 months of age. At the end of the treatment period, mice (n=4 per group) were sacrificed, perfused transcardially with PBS, and their hippocampi were extracted for proteomic analysis.
