Muscle atrophy, marked by reduced muscle mass and strength, presents a significant health challenge with varied underlying causes, such as chronic inflammation. The search for effective preventive measures and interventions for muscle atrophy holds considerable importance, and understanding these causes at a molecular level is crucial for developing effective strategies for prevention and treatment. While α-tocopherol, a primary form of vitamin E, is well-known for its antioxidant benefits in muscle health, γ-tocotrienol has demonstrated even more potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This project aim to investigate the protective role of γ-tocotrienol against muscle atrophy, and to compare its effectiveness with that of α-tocopherol.
