The lncRNA SMANTIS (formerly known as MANTIS, AK125871, n342419) functions as a regulator of cell function in endothelial cells and for adhesion to monocytes. Here, we investigated the function of SMANTIS in THP-1 monocytes. By using an antisense oligonucleotide pulldown approach followed by LC/MS, the protein interaction partners of SMANTIS in THP-1 cells were identified. This approach was performed in NTC (non-targeting control) THP-1, where SMANTIS is present, and in SMANTIS-LentiCRISPR KO THP-1, where SMANTIS was removed. The data revealed that a lot of RNA-binding proteins interact with SMANTIS.
