This study hypothesized that adenine methylation was involved in bacterial regulation of physiological adaptations when grown under environment stress. Thus, this study compared the growth of an adenine methyltransferase-inactivated mutant (ΔpglX) and the wild-type L. paracasei Zhang strains when cultured under osmotic stress. Proteomic analyses were implemented to identify differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) of the bacteria under osmotic stress .
