Main aim of the project is to analyze differentially expressed genes and proteins in early germination stages of Opium poppy plants under drought stress conditions. These results will be used for selection of drought resistant varieties for dry regions and also for further breeding of drought resistant varieties. Side aim of the project is to utilize standard set of methods for sample preparation and processing for proteomic and transcriptomic analysis, that would lead to more comparable results for future assessments in the field of poppy drought stress resistance research.
