Dataset Summary
TitleIdentifying interactions of the CLAVATA-related receptors FEA3 and BAM1D with TurboID-based proximity labeling in maize meristems
DescriptionPlant development is defined by extensive post-embryonic growth, which is governed by meristems, tissues which contain undifferentiated cells that persist throughout the plant’s life. Meristem activity is regulated by the CLAVATA (CLV) signaling pathway, consisting of a suite of CLV receptors and their CLE peptide ligands. While the CLV signaling pathway has been much studied over the years, downstream signaling targets of CLV receptors remain obscure. Furthermore, we do not know how CLV receptors interact to control meristem maintenance. To clarify CLV receptor interactions, we employed TurboID-based proximity labeling in maize shoot apices with two maize CLV receptors, FASCIATED EAR3 (FEA3) and BARELY ANY MERISTEM1D (BAM1D). From our proximity labeling dataset, we identified hundreds of putative interactors of FEA3 and BAM1D, greatly expanding our knowledge of the meristem receptor signaling landscape.
