Dataset Summary
| Title | The proteomic basis of thermal stress-hardening in the endangered Caribbean coral Acropora cervicornis |
| Description | A thermal stress-hardening experiment was conducted in summer of 2022 whereby 16 nubbins from source colonies of three low-plasticity genotypes and three high-plasticity ones (n=96 nubbins) were exposed to one of two temperature regimes (48 nubbins/treatment): 1) a control, static regime of 28C for two weeks (n=8 tanks) or 2) 30.5C for four days, followed by a five-day recovery period at 28C, followed then by a three-day exposure to 33C (n=8 tanks). Two samples from each of the six genotypes were sampled from each treatment on days 0, 4, 10, and 13, and a subset of 89 of the 96 biopsies were profiled with Tandem Mass Tag (TMT; TMT-Pro)-based proteomics (Thermo-Fisher Scientific) after pH fractionation. |
