Dataset Summary
| Title | Idiopathic Nephrotic Syndrome Differentially Shapes the Proteome of Urinary Extracellular Vesicles |
| Description | This dataset contains label-free LC-MS/MS proteomic profiles of urinary extracellular vesicles (uEVs) isolated from pediatric patients affected by idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (INS). Patients were classified into steroid-sensitive (SSNS), steroid-dependent (SDNS), and steroid-resistant (SRNS) subgroups based on clinical response to corticosteroid therapy. To minimize confounding effects of proteinuria, only samples collected during remission were included. uEVs were isolated from second-morning urine samples using ultracentrifugation following HKUPP guidelines, with ZnSO4 treatment to reduce Tamm Horsfall protein contamination. Proteins were processed using a filter-aided sample preparation (FASP) protocol and analyzed by nanoLC-MS/MS on a Bruker Impact HD system in data-dependent acquisition (DDA) mode. The dataset includes technical duplicate injections per sample. Samples are labeled according to Patient ID (EXO SN 0XX), to clinical subgroup as S (SSNS), D (SDNS), and R (SRNS), and identifiers encode both subgroup ("gruppo"/"group") and replicate information ("injX"). Label-free quantification was performed using PEAKS Studio, and protein identification was conducted against the UniProt human database using stringent filtering criteria (at least 2 unique peptides). Overall, this dataset supports the identification of subgroup-specific proteomic signatures associated with INS clinical phenotypes and provides a resource for investigating extracellular vesicle-mediated mechanisms in kidney disease. |
