Dataset Summary
TitleQuantitative proteomics of the lung in a Thbs1 cell specific knockout model after pseudomonal injury in mice
DescriptionAn early event after lung injury is extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling and the formation of a provisional matrix. While megakaryocytes (Mgks) and platelets play important roles in hemostasis, their impact on the matrix in lung injury is not fully understood. We utilized quantitative proteomics to demonstrate that matricellular protein thrombospondin-1 (TSP1) arising from Mgk/plts protects the lung from acute alveolar injury. Given the essential role of Mgk/plts in forming the provisional matrix. We explored matrix-related proteins within the airspace compartment and alveolar tissue compartment after injury following pseudomonal lung infection in wildtype and cell specific Thbs1 knockout mouse model systems.
