Dataset Summary
TitleAge-Linked Variations in Adipose Tissue Responses to Nerve Injury in a murine model: Sex-Specific Patterns Over Time
DescriptionAdipose tissue (AT) plays a central role in the metabolic and inflammatory responses to neuropathy. It secretes adipokines, such as leptin and adiponectin, which regulate nerve regeneration and inflammation . Postmenopausal women have a higher prevalence of PN, linked to estrogen depletion, which influences immune and inflammatory pathways. Estrogens promote Schwann cell (SC) activity and reduce oxidative stress, offering neuroprotective benefits . Our proteomic analysis is part of the comprehensive investigation in a mouse model of peripheral nerve injury, utilizing behavioral, imaging, biochemical, molecular, and -omics approaches. Our objective is to elucidate the sex-specific metabolic roles of AT in aging-related neuropathy and pain.
