Description | Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic nonspecific inflammatory bowel disease. Traditional drugs for the treatment of UC mainly by reducing the inflammaory response in UC or inhibiting the host immune response, but its long-term use may cause a variety of adverse reactions and a high relapse rate, which limits its clinical application. Yunpi Tongyi Formula (YPTYF), a classical Chinese patent medicine, is an effective treatment option for UC. However, the comprehensive ingredients in YPTYF and their multiple actions, as well as their underlying mechanisms against UC, have not been fully elucidated. |
