Dataset Summary
| Title | Effect of menstrual blood-derived mesenchymal stromal cell secretomes on macrophage polarization: therapeutic insights |
| Description | Menstrual blood-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (MenSCs) are a promising alternative source of MSCs for clinical applications due to their unique advantages, including easy isolation and high proliferative capacity. They possess immunomodulatory and regenerative capabilities, interacting with immune cells like macrophages and promoting tissue repair. While MenSCs hold therapeutic potential, cell-based therapies face limitations such as low survival rates and unpredictable paracrine activity. Therefore, utilizing the MenSC-derived secretome offers a potentially more effective therapeutic strategy. This study investigates the immunomodulatory capacity of the MenSC-derived secretome on macrophage differentiation, polarization, and repolarization. Here, label-free mass spectrometry analyses were conducted to identify the key immunomodulatory proteins involved in the effects of the MenSC-derived secretome. This research provides novel insights into the MenSC secretome's impact on macrophage modulation, paving the way for developing innovative cell-free therapies for immune and inflammatory diseases. |
