Titleα-1,2 glycosyltransferase plays an essential role in maintaining leaf margin shape in kale
DescriptionThe morphological diversity of leaf margin shapes is an identifying characteristic of many plant species. Aberrant changes in protein glycosylation are closely associated with plant growth and development. In this work, we have performed a quantitative N-glycoproteomics analysis on leaves from ALG10-overexpressing plants and the wild-type. Using this method, we identified altered glycosylation levels in proteins associated with catalytic activity, metabolic process, and binding functions. Furthermore, we predicted substrate proteins downstream of α-1,2 glycosyltransferase that might be involved in modulating leaf shape. These findings provided valuable insights into the regulatory role of α-1,2 glycosyltransferase in leaf development in kale.
