DescriptionTo examine whether P26 is involved in the extracellular melanization pathway, we used HearNPV and cotton bollworm as a testing system and detected the presence of HearNPV P26 in hemolymph from the virus-infected insect via liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry analysis. P26 was one of the most abundant viral proteins detected in the infected hemolymph at 48 and 72 h post infection, implying a role in the host hemolymph.
