Title	The Histone H1-Like Protein AlgP Facilitates Even Spacing of Polyphosphate Granules in Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Description	Nitrogen starvation results in polyphosphate accumulation in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Using Percoll gradient centrifugation, we pelleted polyphosphate granules and compared their composition to the unfractionated cell lysate using mass spectrometry. Among the enriched proteins was the alginate regulatory protein AlgP. Its unusual amino-acid composition, overall charge, and physicochemical properties lead us to further investigate its role in granule association and spacing in Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
